I have worked for all of the "Big 3", Toyota and Kia. I love all cars but Ford has always been my favorite. You will never hear me talk bad about a car company except maybe the company that made the Yugo but they won't care. Anyway, true fans and Ford lovers are there with Ford no matter what. When the Firestone tire recall happened I drove my Expedition proud and left my Firestone tires on because I was not embarrassed. When Ford stock fell to under $1.50 a share in late 2008 all kinds of people called me and asked what they should do, sell or stick it out. I said STICK IT OUT?! You don't need to stick it out you need to take every dollar you have and buy as much Ford stock as you possibly can. Of course everyone was in amazement but I explained. First I said this is Ford Motor Company, one of the 10 largest companies in the world, they will not fail nor will they be allowed to. Second I said, did you here what Alan Mulally said on national TV with the GM and Chrysler CEO's right beside him. He said he was there to get across to congress that we could not allow any American automaker to fail and he added that Ford did not need the money and in fact they could survive under the current conditions for another 2 years. I then said "DID YOU HEAR ME?". GM and Chrysler will not survive another 3 months without help but Ford can survive another 2 years and if conditions improve then Ford can go even longer. Guess what? Conditions improved! I knew Ford was on there way back to their heyday. So $10,000.00 of Ford stock bought in late 2008 would be worth around $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 today. That's right! Ford has not been surviving they have been thriving compared to most auto companies right now. Not only because they are financially in better condition but there quality and technology is second to none. Funny how the congress woman at the Toyota interrogation yesterday said she bought a Camry hybrid because the Americans did not make one on that level. She showed that she did not do her homework because the Ford Fusion Hybrid beat out Camry Hybrid for "Car of the Year". The last thing that I am proud about with Ford is how they will not kick a company when they are down. I have not seen one commercial with Ford taking advantage of Toyota's current problems. In fact 95% of all Ford commercials give the advantages of their vehicle's not the disadvantage's of others. Like I said I like all car companies, even GM but GM goes pretty far with tearing down other vehicles to sell their own. In one commercial GM makes fun of Ford's innovative side and tailgate steps by calling them "Man Steps". I was in shock because in my mind they were selling Ford's by showing the step. They were trying to make fun of an option that over 90% of consumers want. Maybe that's why that commercial had a short life span. Once again I have been proud of Ford when they were down and I am proud of Ford now while they are on top. I have a feeling they are here to stay this time. I love you Ford.
