Crash Test - "They Don't Make Them Like They Use To!"

Written by: Jimmy Sesto

If I hear one more time "they don't build cars like they use to" I am going to go crazy. Its always the same story, "I had a big 1975 whatever and after an accident the car would have hardly no damage." When I would show a customer the front crumple zones of a car they would always say the same thing. "How does that help?" Simple, hold out your arm and lock your elbow (frame), I would then hit their hand with some force and ask "where did you feel that impact?". Same answer every time, shoulder and chest. Now extend your arm while leaving a slight bend in the elbow (crumple zone). I hit their hand with the same force and watched their arm collapse. Where did you feel that I would ask. The same answer every time, "Only in the hand." Exactly, no crumple zones the impact is felt throughout the car, with crumple zones the front of the car takes a massive portion of the force. That is just one of many reasons why they don't build them like they use to.

  1. Hello, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i
was just curious if you get a lot of spam responses? If so how do you stop it, any plugin or
anything you can suggest? I get so much lately it's driving me mad so any help is very much appreciated.

  3. Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The
words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Opera.

I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know.

The layout look great though! Hope you get the issue solved soon.

    Kudos

  5. Woah! I'm really loving the template/theme of this website. It's simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it's very difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Safari. Outstanding Blog!

  8. Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I
guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any points for first-time blog writers? I'd
    genuinely appreciate it.

  9. Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?

My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended
up losing a few months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to protect against
    hackers?
